The problem with C:R is that it takes away the sense of risk reward, when you get wasted, you can just repair again.wtf? That completely ruins it for me, what is worse is that yes the player car is weaker as the damage calculation system always seems to over calculate doing seemingly more damage to you than you'd expect, especially compared with C2 and TDR:2000. It was so much fun, then when I finally got the game I had many a future encounter with it, Big Dump (untill finding the solid granite car pickup lol) the suppressor and more, dat final level tho.it was barrels of fun. But the thing I loved most was the risk reward, finally getting a hit in that warped the rear frame upwards and so it couldnt move forward properly, finding an afterburner and taking like a 280 KMH run up, TWICE to finally waste it was unbelievable. it was grueling, I was only like 8 or 9 back then and for me it was so hard. I spent so long, so so long trying to destroy that thing it was probably the most fun I've ever had in a demo. I'm often going 120+ km h and they just bounce off my car with no kill. It even happens with pedestrians as well. It doesn't matter what vehicle I'm in (with the obvious exception of the Suppressor), the damage is very much in their favor.

I go full speed into them and I basically just bounce off of them, yet when they do this to me (avoiding a direct impact otherwise I'm dead instantly) I get my entire car damaged. Much like Rygir said, it takes the AI very little effort for it to leave your car missing axes, complete front/rear end etc with as little as a push, while if you try going at blistering speeds into their side panels you mostly get very pitiful damage (200-500 points) with an occasional part or two ripped out.
